Golf Course Boston Ma
BOSTON, MA…What very american expereinces are there…minature golf, diner, good mexican food, etc?
I’m going to be in Boston for about a month with a bunch of friends who have never been to America. I really want to find a GOOD mexican food restuarant (i’m from texas, so i have high expectations!!), a traditional 50s diner (complete w/ jute box, rootbeer floats, greasy burgers and milkshakes), a minature golf course (with big cheesy castles and windmills and the like; hopefully with batting cages and golf carts)….and I’ll take any other suggestions!! Thanks so much!
I was living in California before coming back to Massachusetts, and I can assure you that the Mexican food here pales in comparison to the Southwest. I would recommend La Verdad, it’s in the Fenway area.
Boston is pretty cosmopolitan, you’re really not really going to find mini golf and diners in the city… you’ll have to drive pretty far out to suburbia to find that sort of thing, and even then there isn’t that much.
I grew up on the North Shore of Massachusetts, so I’d recommend the Agwam Diner and Captain’s Cove mini golf – but it’s an hour drive north and kinda middle of nowhere.
To be honest, I’d really recommend enjoying the things that make Boston unique rather than trying to find Texas-style Americana.
Take them to Fenway park for a Sox game, to the north end for American-Itallian fusion, to Irish-style dive bars, to Fanuiel Hall and Boston Common for all the historical stuff, to Newbury St, and Harvard/Cambridge.
