Golf Course Coupons

Why do golf courses not let us split golf cart fees anymore but only get to take one cart out between us two?

Have you ever wondered this too? I got so upset the other day at my local course. I had a foursome, I gave two of my friends two smart card coupons which gave them free green fees so they only had to pay for cart. My other friend I thought had buy1get1free but actually had what I gave away. So, I had to pay full fee, cart included and yet didn’t get a cart of my own. We who ride together should be able to split like we did in the past. What is up with these new ignorant rules. From now on, I am walking. They can keep the cart, I will keep my $$$

AMEN TO THAT. Unfortunately I’ve seen this more then I care to admit. In arguing about it at one local club, the answer I was given is that the fee is not for the cart itself, but the fee is for RIDING, regardless of who is driving or riding. The fee is to ride, and they will give 1 cart for every two people that pay the fee to ride.

It is a public track, and I even saw them try to charge a player who was going to walk but then on the first tee put his bag on another person’s cart. The starter went up to him and said that it will be a cart fee if he does that. I heard (rumor only) that the player put the bag on later in the round, the ranger saw it, and they tried to then charge him again for it!!! Needless to say, I haven’t been back to the course.

I’m with you, I’ll take the exercise and save my money.
