Golf course car damage liability?
My car got hit by a golf ball.. unfortunately although I heard it hit hard, I didn’t find the dent right away. A few days later I noticed a big dent.
I went to the country club management and they told me they coudln’t do anything unless they could find the golfer that hit the ball, but I don’t remember exactly the time or even day it happened. They told me the golfer is responsible for it, and not them.
Shouldn’t the golf course have liability insurance for this kind of accident? How can I get them to pay for the damage?
Actually I was not on the property of the golf course, I was driving on the road adjacent to the Country Club, so I literally saw the ball flying at me and heard it hit the car, but since I was in a hurry I didn’t examine it carefully enough for a dent.

It’s not the courses responsibility and it’s not the golfer’s responsibility that hit the ball. This has been tested in court many times and the result is “the golfer hitting the ball doesn’t know where the ball is going”. If the golfer is standing on the hood of your car and breaks the windshield, that’s another issue. That was the intent. You own it. Move on. Park a little more strategically.
