Golf Course Yardage

Are taking notes of a golf course good or bad?

Here is an example of my notes about the golf course I’ll be playing at for the first time (i got the card of the website and it has tips too)

1) Par 4
Blue:353
White:330
Red:315

Favor rightside of fairway with tee shot
Big green

2) Par 3
Blue:150
White:131
Red:315

Slow green
Mound on rightside of the green
know the yardage of clubs before hand

Is there anything else I should be taking a note of? (i dont list the black yardage because I couldn’t even dream of hitting it that far)
and im a junior golfer so i have no F###### chance of hitting a 4 iron off a tee.
My “practice” round will be tommorow, and have 4 more this week. So i do have time to scout it

If you are going to play a tournament at a particular course and have the ability of playing a practice round, note taking is a must. Start with a schematic of the hole, any outstanding feature and its yardage to the front of the green. A pin location sheet will assist in attaining a more exact yardage. The majority of country clubs have irrigation systems with yardages marked on the sprinkler head covers. Also there are the old standby red, white and blue plastic discs denoting the 100, 150 and 200 yard distances to the center of the green.
