Moving down to Charlotte NC, in a few weeks. looking for advice.?

i am moving down to Charlotte from New England so this is going to be quite the change in scenery for my girlfriend and i. I have looked at apartments all around the city, (no specific distance from downtown) and i am wondering what are some good areas to live? i enjoy golf but there seems to be a course on every corner so i am not concerned with proximity of courses but more with privacy and safety. we will be staying with friends in fort worth SC until we find our own place.
Desires
-Privacy
-good neighborhood
-cheaper end of spectrum
-good location to commute into city
-some space and grass wouldn’t hurt
Ill appreciate all input since i have nothing to work off as of right now.

I live in South Charlotte (in the Arboretum) area and it’s great here. I live in a great neighborhood, close to shops, and parks. As for prices, a one bedroom apartment costs about 635-900 depending on the complex. Plus, this neighborhood is on a major road that is a straight shot to downtown.
