How do you know you can play golf?

My friends are into golf and are always asking me to go with them but i dont go because i’ve never played and don’t know if i can play or not… do i need to take lessons before i go or just go and see how i do and have fun?

I would say it all depends on how serious your friends are. i.e. Are they just out to play and have fun or are they serious? If its just for fun then by all means go and see how you do.. If you like it then take some lessons…. Now if the are serious golfers then you go take a few lessons. The Pro will tell you if you have any potential. Dont tell your pals about the lesson and then one day go with them a surprise them but unless you are an exceptonal athlete you cannot learn this game over night. You have to have patients and most of all, practice, practice, practice… I wish you good golf… Grant in Pennsylvania
