What is a good golf computer game?

After a quick browse on Amazon, I found Tiger Woods PGA Tour game, both 2007 & 2008, but both have mixed reviews. I’m not a pro gamer so I don’t know what to look for. The game is a gift so I would like to get the best one possible. It’s for a guy in his mid-50s who plays golf (weather permitting) and just wants to play the game during spare time in the winter when it’s too snowy for the golf course.

Tiger Woods is a good game for gameplay. It is probably the best of recent games.

It is an older game and the gameplay won’t be as smooth. The advantage is the course selection. The game itself is cheap and the courses are cheap as well. This will let him choose where he wants to play instead of the 10 or so standard courses on Tiger Woods. If he has a good appreciation of the game, he might enjoy playing the famous courses he might not otherwise get a chance to play. Just another suggestion for you.
