Schaumburg is a village in northwestern Illinois and located in Cook County. It is 30 miles northwest of Chicago. It has a total area of 19.1 square kilometers. Schaumburg has grown from a suburban village to a metropolis. It has a population of over 75,000 and is a lively residential area.

Schaumburg was established in 1956, but its origins date back to the years long ago when the Indian tribes of Sauk, Kickapoo, Pottawatomie and Fox inhabited this region. The first settlers were from Germany and the U.S.. Schaumburg is a historic town which remained largely in Germany until a few decades ago. There are several churches serving in Schaumburg believers of all faiths. Some of the German churches were completely until the last few years, most notably St. Peter's Lutheran Church. It is now a museum.

The Community Consolidated School District manages 54 public elementary and secondary schools. Some of the best schools around the area can be found here. The Township High School District 211 operates five high schools – Schaumburg High School, William Fremd High School, James B. Conant High School, Palatine and Hoffman Estates High School High School.

1. Woodfield Mall – This is one of the largest shopping centers in the U.S. and houses the offices of Macy's, Lord & Taylor, JC Penney, Nordstrom and Sears.

2. The Streets of Woodfield – This is a lifestyle center that is known for its shops, theaters and offices.

3. Woodfield Village Green – An outdoor mall located in Schaumburg and houses some major shops.

4. Olde Schaumburg Town Center – This is shaping a piece of land and is the center of the city. Some of the most popular shopping stores and restaurants can be found here.

5. Prairie Town Center – Also known as Scharrington square and has many shopping centers. You can find places like The Home Depot, Petsmart, Sears, Bath and Body Works, Starbucks Coffee, McDonald's and Chipotle Mexican Grill.

6. Schaumburg Golf Club – This is the Schaumburg Golf Course. Most golfers in the area could be playing golf here.

7. Walnut Greens Golf Course – This is a decent golf courses in the area and has very few customers.

Schaumburg is connected to Chicago's Union Station and Elgin by a daily rail service in the west of the Metra line. It is well connected by road.
