How to get into the golf courses in New York. Anyone familiar with the history of the Big Apple knows that it was a seaport and trading center long before anything else. The geography of the city of New York also played an important role on how the city developed. In short, unlike Los Angeles – not even exist when New York was a bustling business center and port of entry – any thing that came later had to adjust to what was already there.

Case in point – Departure times New York is hard to find. Unlike Los Angeles, which has 144 of them, there are only 19 golf courses located in NYC's five boroughs – and 18 of them are owned and operated by the city, which means they are public property.

This is actually a good thing because it means consistent green fees throughout the city, which are much lower than those charged at private country clubs outside the metropolitan area. The fees for tee times at 17 golf courses in the city of New York have been established by the Parks Foundation New York, and are all equal.

The only exception is Moshulu Driving Range in the Bronx, whose structures slightly different rates – which are still quite low for residents of New York with an annual permit (only $ 6 a year for adults). This is a course of nine Regulation hole, par 35, with 3253 meters. Weekend Green Fees are only two dollars more at the weekend, and include the use of a golf cart if available.

The field of remaining private practices in the city is the Chelsea Piers. These are located on the docks in Manhattan real and are unusual in that offer "Simulator Sessions "- a form of technology that was science fiction only a quarter of a century ago. Those who have seen the science fiction film that starred Outland Sean Connery could remember Peter Boyle virtual golf on a similar device, which at that time was an illusion of Hollywood. That technology is real and available now at Chelsea Piers, one of the most technologically advanced golf courses in New York.

Simulator play at Chelsea Piers is expensive, however: a meeting an hour will cost more than a set play eighteen holes at one of the traditional courses in New York outdoor fields operated by the Parks Foundation in New York. Tee Times can be booked for anywhere from around $ 30 during the week to about $ 42 on weekends. Seniors can play a little more than half, and the children under 16 can play during the week for just $ 7.50 – and get free golf lessons through the Parks Department to boot!
