Golf Club Shafts ?????
We all know that the pros may buy the same clubs as we do, but then have them customized to their game.
Where does one find these shafts that they play ?
And at what point (speed) does one go from a Stiff shaft rating to a X shaft rating….110 mph ? 120 mph ?
Actually the pros use similar clubs to what we can get to a certain extent. Pros have a team of people that custom fit their head, shaft, grip to their specific needs. Pros will go to a manufacturer and tell them what they need. After that the custom builder will build them a club and they pro will go out and hit it with a custom fitter. They will then use tracking equipment to record bal flight information and suggest equipment that will give the player an optimum ball flight.
I realize this is more information than you wanted but the shafts that the pros use can be found either through your local golf shop or online. There are also some publications that offer delivery of custom shafts. The best thing to do is see if you can find a demo day for the manufacturer that you want they will have many clubs with different shaft options and their you can see which shaft at which flex you need. Often times you could have a fast swing and require a soft shaft or vice versa.
