Why do the rich play tennis and golf?

I was just sitting watching TV today, and every time you see the rich or wealthy they always seem to be playing golf or tennis. So I was wondering why is it that golf and tennis are always associated with the rich or the wealthy?

I think its a way to show there class and how they socialize just like we (normal peeps) go to the movies and hang out
